Ugh crappy monday

Today was a long day. Work was terrible and I'm in a bad mood, ugh. I'm going to try my hardest to not take it out on cookies and bags of chips although I REALLY would like to. At least I get to go to my bartenders meeting so I get out of the house and away from the food lol. Early to bed and hopefully I get out of this bad mood.

Thanks for the birthday wishes

I had a great day and a really fun night. I will admit I definitely went off plan starting right in the a.m with a french toast twisty bagel thing from dunking donuts. WARNING FOOD PORN in this post lol. I'd never had one but I swear they are straight from heaven, cinnamon, raisins, maple frosting, BAGEL wow!

We had wings and beer for dinner, my favorite. Well I had a few wings, 1/2 a cheeseburger and beer, the boyfriend had a "quad burger" yeah you read that right. 4 1/3lb patties with cheese. It is beyond me how he stays so fit eating that amount of meat on a regular basis. I mean he ate the other 1/2 of my burger when I couldn't finish it and 1/2 a basket of fries that he split with one of the other guys! It's was honestly amazing lol.

I have my first ever massage in about an hour, a present from the boyfriend and then I'm going to lay out by the pool for the rest of the day in (drum roll please) my new white bikini that fits perfectly! YAY ME! So far 29 is the best year ever :)

29 years old today

Today is my birthday, 29 years old :) so far it's been a great day. I'm working but I arranged my schedule to only see clients who I really like and are completely stress free (hey I can do this every once in awhile!!!). After work I'm meeting a friend for a drink then we are meeting up with boyfriends and going out and about. I didn't want to do anything fancy so we are planning on some wings and burgers lol. Tomorrow I have the day off!

I've been keeping up with the increased weight lifting and am just finishing week 3. I've noticed a difference so far especially in my arms. I can't believe it shows already there is something to be said for sticking with a routine. The boyfriend and I are enjoying the time together in the morning too.

1st 5K

I finally took the imitative and signed up for my first 5K race. It's for a children's home in the area. When I worked for child protective services I had a bunch of kids there so I figured it would be a great reason to get off my butt and get some donations!

Now I just have to start running again LOL. I ran a mile this a.m in 11 minutes and it went very well, I could have gone further but I had already done my lifting and the boyfriend was waiting for me. I guess I'm going to have to start doing a.m and p.m workouts.

I'm both excited and nervous but I know I can do it and the race is for a great cause so now it's training time :)

week 2 increased weight lifting

So last week was my first week of increased weight lifting and I completed it BUT I was so sore on my weekend away at the beach that I could barely move LOL. We still had a great time, I just can't remember the last time that I was ever that sore. I'm noticing I'm a lot more hungry on the days that I do weight training too. I might have to start eating those activity points...

Today was the first day of the 2nd week. We did shoulders and it was reasonably easy but it is my first day back so I expect that it will get harder as my muscles get tired throughout the week. I think today was the first time I had to convince the boyfriend that we had to go to the gym. He was not wanting to get up and I had to tell him that he was supposed to be the trainer!

This is the start of the count down. We are going to Tampa on the 17th of September and I just bought a white bikini from Victoria's Secret. I want to be able to rock it when we go so I am making a promise to myself to really get back OP and hit the gym like I should be and was in the beginning.

"Lift like a man, look like a goddess"

Along with my boyfriend helping me learn how to master the free weights I started reading The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler w/Cassandra Forsythe, M.S. and workout programs by Alwyn Cosgrove. The book and my boyfriend seem to be right in the same set of mind, women can and should lift weights the same way that men do.

Now I'm not saying that what I have been doing isn't working because it definitely got me this far but I can already see that this is going to push me even further and give me the end result that I'm looking for. I'm hoping to really tone up and see muscle definition without flexing.

So far the week has been good. We've done back and chest, tomorrow is arms. I'll admit that I am definitely sore but I'll have the weekend to rest and we are going to the beach for a few days so I won't have to do anything but lounge around. I was a bit worried about working out with him since I really keep to myself at the gym but he has been great and so motivational.

So as of week one I am definately enjoying the program. I'm hoping to see some results by the middle of September when I go to Tampa :) Measurements to come as soon as I get the time to do them!

Haven't written in awhile

This summer has just been so busy; it's been crazy. I've been trying to spend as much time outside doing fun things with the boyfriend and my other friends, so far so good. I've got a lot of cool stuff coming up including some time at the ocean and my 29th birthday :)

In regards to WW I've been up and down .2lbs for a few weeks. It's upsetting when I gain even if it only .2lbs. The funny part about it is I'm still having to buy new clothes. I'm wearing a freakin' size 3 skirt and shorts, it's absolutely crazy. I never thought I'd ever buy anything that size. The boyfriend says that I'm gaining muscle but I get so mad when I see a bigger number on the scale that I can barely stand it. I just don't understand how you can work out so much, eat right and then gain + I've still got a little belly, ugh! When is that going away???

The boyfriend did offer to show me how to use the free weights at the gym and mixing it up might make a difference so I took him up on his offer. He's going to help me out for 4 weeks without me complaining about the scale (ummmmmm we'll see about that) and then I'll re-evaluate my situation lol.
