Today I had a dentist appointment and I lied about the amount of time I floss my teeth. Why do I do this? Who knows? It just is easier then having to listen to a lecture. This time she really believed me and told me my teeth look fantastic, sweet! Must be the new electric toothbrush I'm using religiously.
Other than that not a lot happened today. I'm sore from yesterday, lunges really do a number on my legs. I can feel them so much the following day. I went to the gym and did 32 minutes on the arc trainer (tried the interval program today, UGH not a good day to try something new but I made it through it). Then I just walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes.
I didn't wake up early enough for the gym this morning, I'll blame the rain again. But I'm going to try to tomorrow morning so I won't have to go after work. Tomorrow we are supposed to see the sun (and for the entire weekend, YAY) so hopefully it'll be bright in the a.m and I'll wake right up. Have a good night :)

It's still raining...
UGH it's been raining for two full days and is supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon. What a mess! I wanted to get up and go to the gym this a.m but it is really hard to do that when you can hear the rain and it's so nice in bed LOL. Needless to say I didn't make it and I got up at my regular time for work.
I went after work. I'm a little nervous about my weigh in this week since I drank a lot this weekend and all those MGD64s really do add up so I've been trying to really hit it hard at the gym this week. I did 35 minutes on the arc trainer, 20 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the elliptical. I also did some squats, lunges, deadlifts and other strength training for my legs.
Just about to pass out now LOL. It's time to switch back and forth between The Biggest Loser and Dancing with the Stars to find out the results. Then it's off to bed...two more days to weigh in so I've got to behave, count everything and work my (getting smaller) butt off!!!

Fancy work bake sale
If you haven't figured it out by now I'm a social worker. I work with the elderly and those with disabilities. I investigate abuse and neglect, case manage and basically help people out when they need it if they fall into either of those categories. Before I worked doing the same job but with children. Changing to the other end of the spectrum has really opened my eyes. The biggest difference is that there is NO FUNDING available for the elderly/disabled adults. When I worked for child protective services and a kid came into care with just a shirt and diaper on we went to the store and bought them things. In my current job there is no ability to do that so we have to raise money (which isn't even allowed but what else are you supposed to do)! So we do things like soup days and soup, bread and a dessert that we've made to other people in the office. Today we had planned a Spring Fling with desserts for sale.
Great! I just love being around dessert all day, it makes my life really easy, causes no extra stress and doesn't make me worry at all. I mean put me in a room filled with different varieties of cheesecake, cupcakes, congo bars, cream puffs, ice cream and brownies and I feel no anxiety at all...um yeah right! BOOOOOOOO dessert day!!!
It was bad enough I had to make cupcakes and be alone with a can of frosting (fyi I passed that test with flying colors, no tasting of the frosting). But then surround me with it all freakin' day long, ugh you must be joking?
The good news: we made $96 for prescriptions, taxi rides and other as needed items.
The not so good news: I ate a cupcake. I didn't mean to, I had no intention of eating it but around 3:30 after being around it all day I knew I was going to eat something and there was no way it was going to be the 700+ calorie cheesecake...it could have been way worse so I'm happy about that.
I put in some extra time at the gym to make up for it. 35 minutes on the arc trainer. 30 minutes on the elliptical. A 22 minute forest walk on the treadmill. Strength training for my arms. So I ate the cupcake, but I feel like I made up for it.
Now I just have to make it through tomorrow when we sell the leftovers at half price...and NO I am not putting it into my meal plan, I'm going to try to refrain from them and just keep saying to myself a treat is a once in awhile thing and you had one yesterday.

Great Weigh in and best night ever!!!
So at my weigh in on Thursday night I lost -2lbs...that's right TWO POUNDS!!! Yay me!!! But better then that, I went out afterwards. You know what??? I saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen since I started losing weight and they were complimenting me left and right. I guess I look different. I'm thinking about putting some pictures up but I kind of like being anonymous so that would be a huge step.
Today I went out and bought my first pair of size 7 pants...that means I have totally cut my size in almost 1/2....from a 13/14 to a freakin' 7...I feel just about invincible at this point. I also looked up my BMI which I haven't done in awhile. Currently I am at 141.6lbs. If I can get to 139.6 then I will be in the normal range...FYI I started in the OBESE RANGE!!! I just feel fantastic at this point!

Long day, glad it's over.
Work and then dinner at Oma's tonight (like every Wednesday). She made shake and bake chicken, sugar snap peas, buttercup squash, salad and asparagus. It was great, I love how she makes so many veggies for me. Since we are having Easter dinner over at her house a week from Sunday I didn't want her to cook next week so I am going to bring her (and I) some tacos from the local place. She loves that but has trouble ordering so I like to bring them to her every once in awhile. I'm going to go there on Tuesday next week instead of Wednesday so it's not the day right before weigh in...love Mexican food :)
I was going to go to a cardio combat class after Oma's but I barely slept last night (I was up until about 3am just trying to fall asleep, UGH) so instead I went to the gym to walk on the treadmill. I ended up doing the forest walk for 20 minutes, then walking a mile, running a mile and walking another one...that is what you get when there is good stuff on tv. Well I guess it wasn't good but it was the trashiest show I've seen in awhile (Pretty Wild). I have never seen it before but boy is it trashy, it held my interest for awhile LOL. I'll try the cardio combat class next week since it's only $6 for an hour.
Hopefully bedtime comes early tonight! Weigh in tomorrow and I haven't peeked at all but I feel good about it.

Cooked a fantastic meal tonight
Tonight I made the best meal. I was going to make a fish taco but I only had one flat out wrap which I really want to use for lunch tomorrow soooo my plans changed a little. I cooked the tilapia in a skillet with pam, a little Lawry's seasoning and lemon. Then in another pan I cooked some mushrooms, the grilled peppers I made the other day and some jalapeno pepper. When the fish was done I topped it with the veggies, some homemade guacamole and some fresh tomatoes. OMG, it was freakin' fantastic :) I am surprising myself in the kitchen lately.
I also roasted some veggies to have on hand for later in the week. A little asparagus, zucchini, mushrooms and jalapeno w/some ms. dash garlic herb. It smells so good I might have to have some along with lunch or in my wrap tomorrow.
I went to the gym and did 35 minutes on the arc trainer, a 22 minute forest walk on the treadmill, ran for about 10 minutes and did some lunges and dead lifts. My legs are stressed out LOL but they will get over it!!! Time for some Biggest Loser motivation!!!

Ran my first straight mile today
Work today was really long today so I hit up the gym for some stress relief. I feel like I need to up my intensity since I have been going faithfully for so long that the machines are getting easier to use and I am not sweating as much.
I used the elliptical for 30 minutes and increased my level from 5 to 10. It was like new again, slightly agonizing but I think it'll be worth it in the end. I added 5lbs to all my weight training for my arms and could barely push through my last reps so I think that is a great thing.
Then I did the 22 minute nature walk on the treadmill (at the same level, I'll admit by that time I was a pretty beat and just wanted to walk) but after that I pushed myself and ran a full mile. YUP, a whole mile straight, without stopping and walking. I'm pretty happy with myself considering I haven't run a mile since the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge in 6th grade lol.
Now it is time to watch Dancing with the Stars for some definite motivation...this year's stars are in fantastic shape :)

Warning a little food porn off plan today
I got up this morning and went to the gym. I only did 35 minutes on the arc trainer because my heart just wasn't in it. Then I drove up an hour to my mother's house and we drove another 40 minutes north to go shopping at some outlets. We had a great day, and I barely bought anything (a $5 shirt and some stuff at the Christmas Tree Shop). Our main plan was to go out to eat for lunch/dinner.
And boy did we...LOL. I hadn't eaten but that was sort of the plan since I went to the gym, showered and immediately drove to see her. We went to this place called Moat Mountain Smoke House and Brewing Co. and it was FANTASTIC! I had a cup of the vegan Thai peanut chili to start (she had the Texas style brisket and aduille chili). Then we had moat mountain pot stickers (3 Asian style pork dumplings served with sweet chili sauce and sesame slaw)...yum. Then we split the ultimate slider combo, 2 of each of the following (we each ate one):
angus beef slider w/cheddar, bacon and a special sauce
bbq pulled pork slider
creole crab cake slider w/chipolte remoulade
and a bunch of hand cut cajun french fries...OH MY GOD. Typically I don't bother with french fries but THESE...I would have eaten them off the freakin' floor they were so crispy and delicious.
We also split the 7 shots of their own 7 draft beers. My mother's fave was the Golden Dog Pilsner and mine was the Square Tail Stout...all were very good :)
Back to the gym and OP tomorrow :) but it was all worth it today!!!

Update....my computer broke for a few days :(
But it's back and running. I guess I'll go back to the St. Patrick's Day weigh in...I was DOWN -1.6lbs!!!
This is going to be a really short update and I'll write later. I went to the gym this morning and did 35 minutes on the elliptical, 35 minutes on the arc trainer and a 20 minute "forest walk" on the treadmill. I've been OP the last few days and I think I'm finally through last week where I was so irritable I could barely stand myself let alone anyone else!
The weather is BEAUTIFUL this weekend and I'm not wasting any of this day inside on the computer. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Big day at the gym...
I had a really long workday today so when I hit up the gym tonight I was totally ready for it. I haven't been feeling well and I've been really pissy for little to no reason so I was really looking forward to a good workout. I did 50 minutes on the arc trainer (remember when I used to say these lined the gates of hell???? Now I LOVE them lol), a 22 minute "nature walk/run" on the treadmill, 10 minutes walking backwards and then another 30 minutes just walking and reading. It was fantastic and I felt great after.
It was 60 degrees out today in NH so I came home and cooked tilapia, shrimp and yellow/red peppers on the grill. I marinated the fish and shrimp with a mojito lime marinade and just grilled the peppers plain. It was FANTASTIC!!! I've never grilled fish so that was a bit tricky and some stuck (you live and learn right?) but all in all I did a pretty good job and it was really tasty.
I am weighing in tomorrow night instead of Thursday since I can't make it there Thursday and I am sort of worried about going a day early. I plan on going to the gym in the morning though and I've done the best I can so if I don't see a loss tomorrow I know I'll see a good size one next week!!! I've felt so pissy the last few days that I'm really going to try to not fall back into that regardless of what the scale says...I'll let you all know tomorrow night :)

Not feeling good today :(
I stayed home from work today because I didn't feel good. I don't really know what it was, probably a combination of a lot of things. I went to the gym this morning at 530 and did 35 minutes on the arc trainer. Then I just started to feel really gross. I went home, showered and crawled back into bed. Ugh after I got in there I couldn't bring myself to get back out. I called into work and slept til 1230! The rest of my day I didn't even change out of my pjs until I finally forced myself to go to the laundry mat. UGH, going to the laundry mat when it's raining and you are sick is pure hell. Now I'm back in my pjs and watching tv, hopefully it'll be an early night and I'll sleep good.
Maybe it's the time change? Or that damn TOM? Or the weather? I dunno, could be a combination of all three...

Time change
I got up REALLY late this morning...it could have been the dinner/dance last night, or the fight with the ex last night or the rain and wind I heard everytime I opened my eyes this morning but regardless it was late. We changed the time, it was 12 by the time I got to the gym. I did 35 minutes on the arc trainer, weights and 30 minutes on the treadmill (on nature walk).
Other than that I didn't do anything today. I'm OP, tired and ready for bed. Everyone have a great night :)

Dinner Dance tonight
I'm a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion and we are having a dinner dance tonight (along with the Legion Riders). I think it's going to be pretty fun. The dinner is stuffed chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, veggie and a roll but since I'm helping out with it by taking tickets at the door I can manage my own meal and have exactly what I want. Most likely I'll skip the potatoes and the roll since I know I'll be having some adult beverages.
I went to the gym this morning and did 35 minutes on the arc trainer then tried the nature walk on the treadmill...it was something different so that was nice. I think I could definitely up my speed and incline but I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing so I'm going to modify it next time. I started walking backwards on the treadmill as well, I'm not sure if it'll make a difference but I see people doing it and I've heard it helps with your butt LOL.
Sidenote: I went to Applebees last night alone. I didn't really feel like calling anyone to go out but I knew I didn't want to cook. It was awkward at first but I ended up having a pretty good time. I had the Cajun Grilled Tilapia with double veggies since I hate restaurant rice...it was great! I also had a Skinny Margartia (which is new there) and only has 100 calories, it was a perfect dinner.

The weigh in results are in...fyi get on it lb for lb challenge
Did I tell you I lost???? Cause I think I did, and I knew I did!!! When you work the program it works that's for sure. Tonight at weigh in I am down 1.2 lbs for a total of 20 POUNDS DOWN...yeah you read that right 20 LBS DOWN IN 9 WEEKS...FREAKIN' RIGHT!!!
Best thing about it is I'm doing the pound for pound challenge from the biggest loser. I pledge 26lbs and I've hit 20 so far. That is 20lbs to my local food pantry. If you are not involved in this, what the hell are you doing???? Get into it, there is still time and no reason not to join. Help others while you help yourself.
http://pfpchallenge.com/ Now get at it, there really isn't an excuse!!!!

Weigh in tomorrow...
I was going to go to the gym with a friend this a.m but she cancelled on me which "forced" me right back into bed. I regretted it all day since then I had to go after work. I did 35 minutes on the arc trainer and then 22 minutes on the bike. I'm still so sore from who knows, some type of working out. I hope the soreness is gone by tomorrow, I can barely stand it.
I went to Oma's tonight for dinner, it was FANTASTIC!!! Scallops, asparagus, baby brussels sprouts, and salad. Absolutely perfect :)
I have not even snuck a peek at the scale this week so I have no clue what's going to happen tomorrow at weigh in. I know I've lost, there's virtually no way I haven't. I've been OP and I've been working out everyday. I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. After weigh in I am going with my mother to Margaritas. She gave up booze for Lent so I probably won't have any adult beverages to support her but we are definitely splitting and appetizer and fish tacos with pineapple salsa...I can not wait!!!

I am so beat!
Today was such a long day, work is just not slowing down! I went to put my gym clothes on at the end of the day and I didn't have my sports bra or socks, DAMN IT! I drove home and decided that I would go for a walk/run instead since I didn't want to drive back to the gym and it was still light out.
I went for 50 minutes, walked up the hills (or walked backwards up them) and ran down them. I was sweating and it seemed like a good workout, different at least. My legs still hurt a little from using the free weights and doing squats and lunges last night so this definitely didn't help. I also got a nice looking blister on my foot tonight, UGH. I don't bitch about being single too often cause at this point in my life I enjoy it BUT I could really use a massage (yeah I know I could make an appointment and pay for one but that's probably not ever going to happen)!
I told one of my friends I'd use my guest pass to bring her to the gym tomorrow. She chose 530 a.m. I am not even sure what the world looks like at that time but I'll find out tomorrow. Then it's off to work and finish the day with dinner at Oma's. I'm planning on doing The Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout tomorrow night or Thursday morning depending on how I feel.

Back on track today
I am back on plan after another weekend of some questionable food choices. I may have eaten an entire small Hawaiian pizza on Saturday night by myself...ugh I'll admit all of a sudden I found myself depressed (for little to no reason) and I was shoveling pizza down my throat without even really tasting it. BOOOOO ME!!!
I picked myself up on Sunday, went to the gym and got right back on plan. I stuck with my plan to have one hot dog at the Celtics game even though there was a little bit of pressure to have other items (hello loaded nachos) since they were all around me smelling heavenly but I managed to pass it all up.
Today I was completely on plan. I went to the gym after work and did 30 minutes on the elliptical, used the free weights for some lifting that I learned at the boot camp class I attended this past weekend, and then walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I came home (it has been so nice here in New Hampshire this past few days that it was still light out and warm) and it was still nice and light enough out for me to use my grill!!!! SWEET!!! I grilled up some steak, 2 peppers and some asparagus and had a fantastic meal. I have enough left overs to have a steak and cheese wrap tomorrow night, YAY!!!

First a thank you for my award :)
Thank you to Genie @ Diet of 51, she gave me an award but my computer is not allowing me to cut and paste anything today without booting me off the internet so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to put it on my blog :( wth!
I guess it was a lying...I mean "creative writing" award and I am supposed to come up with 7 (I think, hard to remember the rules when you can't cut and paste them) "facts about me" but only 1 of them is true and then you all are supposed to guess which one is the truth. I'll give it a shot...this seems harder then I thought it would be though LOL!

Well there you have it...only one of those is even close to the truth, good luck guessing.

Clothes shopping today...NSV!
Huge non scale victory today. I went shopping because my jeans are literally falling off my ass and I just can't stand it anymore! I currently have one pair of jeans that I actually like and that fit but I have to wear heels with them. I really wanted a pair I can relax in (I'm not big into getting dressed up, I do it about once a week). So I need the jeans I can just wear with flip flops or sneakers so badly!!! The ones I've been wearing have holes in them, belt loops missing and are falling apart. I want comfort but I still want them to look nice LOL.
So I headed for Old Navy and bought a pair of Diva jeans SHORT size 8. Yay me!!! I also bought one of their new skirts (bright orange, elastic waist so I could get a small) and a few size medium tops. SWEET!!! This is the first time in months that I have actually enjoyed going shopping :)
Now I'm just relaxing a little and waiting to go to the Celtics game! GO CELTICS!!!

Drum roll please...weigh in...
So I agreed to give an update even though I was nervous about my weigh in this week...I only lose .4lbs this week. Yup it's my lowest in my now 8 weeks. I can understand it due to my piss poor decision making this past weekend (hello Mohegan Sun buffet you bitch) but I can be disappointed. At least it's a loss right???
I guess that is all I have to say for tonight. I will admit I've been out with the Captain (Morgan that is). I will not give up on Weight Watchers, it obviously works when you work the program. I will be OP tomorrow and I will get it done. Thanks for reading (my on occasion drunken, thank you Captain) blogs :) You can do it just like I can...-18.8lbs in 8 weeks...get it done!!!!

Weigh in tomorrow night
I'm a little nervous. Not sure if I did enough to make up for my weekend of fun. I hope so though, I've been OP all week since and I've been to the gym each day. Hopefully it is enough to make up for it.
I think I ate more then I should have at Oma's house tonight, damn it! She makes such good food but tonight she made Stove Top which I have to say is not fancy and not something she usually makes but it is so freakin' good I could barely stand it. All I was thinking while I was eating it was Hello Sodium, but I just couldn't stop with it, damn it! LOL
I plan on getting up tomorrow and doing The Biggest Loser's Last Chance Workout in the a.m before work. I have a busy day at work and I want to make sure I get a workout in before my weigh in (usually I go to the gym in the morning or right before my weigh in). Hope it all works out and I have a loss, fingers crossed...

2 month update on Measurements and sizes
On January 4th, 2010 I made a decision to change my life by joining Weight Watchers and committing to losing this weight that I've been carrying around. It's been 2 months now (well in 2 days but I have time to do this tonight so that's when it is getting done). Two months ago I wrote that my measurements were:
chest: 38 inches (size D)
stomach: 37 inches
hips: 42 inches
thighs: 22 inches
arms: 12 inches
I also reported that I wore a size 13 pants, x-large shirts and received 22 points a day in the Weight Watchers program.
Today, 2 months later, I can report the following:
chest: 33.5 inches (guessing still a D but it looks like I need to get remeasured)
stomach: 34 inches
hips: 37.5 inches
thighs: 20.5 inches
arms: 11 inches
I now wear I size 9 pants, large shirts (some mediums) and receive 20 points a day in the Weight Watchers program.
So what do I have to say about it? Yay Me!!! Although I definitely thought my arms would be bigger but I guess if I really think about it they are just losing their flab. I'm so happy with myself, with the weight that I've lost so far and with the way that I feel (which is fantastic)!
Now just a little bit about today. I'm trying to work out and eat completely OP so that I can lose a little this week (make up for Mohegan Sun and not losing this weekend). I did 35 minutes on the arc trainer, strength training and 22 minutes on the bike. I am also OP today so I'm on the right path that's for sure.

weekend confession but i'm back OP today
UGH...this is the second time I'm writing this since my computer messed up sooooo it's probably going to be shorter then the first time.
I fell off the wagon this weekend. Friday we had no power so I went out to eat, of course so did everyone else in the surrounding towns. I couldn't even find standing room so I went to my friend's daughter's basketball game and was going to get something to eat after. By the time the game was over I was starving I went to Chili's. I could not eat meat since it was a Friday in Lent, ugh I gave in and ordered the Southwestern Egg Rolls (at least 22 points, ugh).
On Saturday I woke up and boarded the bus for Mohegan Sun (armed with a backpack full of snacks and a cooler with some diet soda...always be prepared right?). On the bus I had a diet dew and some baked chips while everyone else bought the girl scout cookies they conveniently had on the bus for sale (are you freakin' kidding me!). We got to Mohegan and well the drinks are free but tiny so I was having some light beers. Lunch consisted of the buffet since we got free coupons. It started so well, salad and mussels, then I had to have some pasta with pesto and clams (I mean it was made to order!). Then some more mussels, some seafood something (guaranteed solid butter and breadcrumbs), a blondie for dessert. Then it's a 3 hour ride home so I ignored my packed snacks and got a Dunkin' Donuts bagel with butter. UGH...
Sunday I got up and went to the gym (35 minutes on the elliptical, 30 minutes on the arc trainer, and 30 minutes on the treadmill). See how I was totally trying to make up for it??? Well that went down the drain when I decided I should have beers the rest of the day. I went home after and instead of my planned Boca burger I ordered a grilled chicken kabob sub (on white bread sub roll of course) with lettuce, tomato, a ton of feta cheese and light ranch with a side of sweet chili Doritos. UGH...
Today though I am back on track.
Breakfast: pineapple and blueberries
Lunch: weight watchers bagel w/laughing cow cheese and a side of asparagus
Dinner: flat out wrap pizza...flat out wrap, tomato sauce, 50% reduced fat Cabot cheddar, red peppers, mushrooms, feta cheese, Italian seasoning and a cucumber on the side
I also went to the gym (30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the arc trainer) + I had to avoid pizza night at the gym...you read that right, the first Monday of the month is pizza night at Planet Fitness, why they do this is beyond me! It is SO HARD to smell fantastic pizza while you are working out and then walk by it without grabbing some on the way out, but I did it! Freakin' Right :)
